How To Turn Craze Into Zen – 5 Natural Ways To Relieve Stress And Anxiety
On the inside, you’re screaming. You’re already running late. Your heart is racing, your body is sweating, and you probably just spilled something on your favorite shirt. You. Are. Stressed.
Unfortunately, this kind of stuff happens. Usually. Every. Day. And almost always at the worst possible time. Right? So how do you go from craze to zen?
Here are 5 Natural Ways you can relieve stress and anxiety.
1. Try Yoga
If the thought of working out is even more stressful than the original stress you’re dealing with— let’s change that. A great exercise that is less daunting and rigorous to your body is yoga. Yoga helps relax your body and mind while also keeping you fit. Additionally, it is a great way to release physical and emotional tensions you’ve carried with you throughout the day.
Here are some poses to get you started!
2. Take A Breath (or 60)
Next time you feel the anxiety rising up, try deep breathing. As elementary as it seems, deep concentrated breathing will calm your brain and get you back to a more calm starting point.
Start by taking a slow deep breath through your nose. Make sure to keep your shoulders relaxed. Exhale slowly through your mouth while keeping your jaw relaxed and your lips slightly pursed.
Doing this for a few minutes can regulate blood pressure, organize brain activity and influence your emotional state. You can do this for 30 seconds or 30 minutes —my sweet spot is 10 minutes. When you stop to smell the flowers, make sure to breath too!
3. Go Outside
Living and breathing under fluorescent lights, in front of a computer screen, and surrounded by constant conversation can leave you feeling worn out and on edge. Not only in your work life; but everywhere you go. There’s traffic, advertisements, construction zones, and noises at every decibel level that keep your brain constantly stimulated.
Your brain needs a break. Going out into nature, whether it be a calming walk or laying down in the park provides still scenes that take your focus in a gentler way instead of catching your attention suddenly and amping up your nerves.
4. Write Things Down
While journaling or keeping a diary is not something that can help with the physical effects of stress and tension, it aids in clearing your brain and general self healing. Keeping a diary allows your brain to be free of thought and is similar to the act of a therapy session. Sometimes all we need to relax is the act of exhaling our thoughts.
If journaling is less of your thing, writing out problems you’re experiencing is an excellent way to find answers. Putting the problem on paper allows your brain to visibly see your thoughts and produce better, more clear solutions.
5. Try USDA Organic Full Spectrum Hemp Extract
Just like other important biological systems, your body has the endocannabinoid system, (ECS) which happens to be one of the most important ones due to its role in maintaining homeostasis.
ECS supports both physical and mental health and wellness. CBD is known best for its ability to inhibit the enzyme called fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH). FAAH breaks down anandamide which binds the ECS’s CB1 receptor. Anandamide produces a calming effect and gets its name from the Sanskrit word ananda which means “bliss”. CBDs' ability to regulate FAAH keeps anandamide levels maintained which enhances anandamide’s beneficial effect in the ECS. When our ECS is in tip-top shape, anxiety and stress are a thing of the past.
Adding CBD oil to your daily routine is as simple as putting a drop under your tongue. Get creative and stir a drop into your morning coffee. Or make it your new must-have ingredient for your favorite smoothie.
If CBD tinctures are not for you, CBD soft gels can be a great accessory to put in your bag and bring with you to work. Life shouldn’t feel like a marathon, and it won’t with CBD.
Third-Party Tested CBD Brands - Third-party lab testing is when an unbiased third-party accredited laboratory performs a scientific analysis of a product. Having neutral party conduct the test offers consumers peace of mind knowing that the results can’t be altered or manipulated, providing complete transparency regarding what is in your CBD products.
